TEAM
T - Teachable
E - Encouragement
A - Adversity
M - Mentor
These are just a few words that alone are powerful but put together and utilized in a team environment become even more powerful, they put the T into Teamwork.
I am fortunate to be part of several teams, like most everyone, I work as part of a team at my job, my daily employment, and at home with my family. This is part of everyday life most take for granted, but I will never, I love being a part of these two very important teams.
The other teams in life are teams we choose to be part of or are selected for and are fortunate enough to be part of.
One team I was selected for is Team Elitefts, this is a Team that spans the globe, there are members from all walks of life, different countries including coaches, Athlete's, Powerlifters, Strongmen/Women, Bodybuilders. Every team member of Team Elitefts has the same desire, and that is to inspire to be better than we ever thought possible with one big moto and that is to "Live, Learn, Pass On"
My team I am basing this log on in particular is Team North American Outlaw Kettlebell Club. Ken and I have been blessed with an amazing team of Athletes who come and train with us. We coach them to lift Kettlebells, some compete, some don't, some just come to train for fitness and health and that's great. Whatever the reason someone wants to better themselves is for their own desires and goals. We open our home for this team, our Kettlebell Studio is their sanctuary !
The amazing part of this group that has very quickly formed a very strong bond of life long friendships and everlasting memories. Each person encourages the others, inspires the others, they feed off each other. It's never a competition between team members, only encouragement and help.
Our team keeps growing, right now there are approximately 12 - 15 steady training members, 10 of which compete.
This team currently is Bethany Lewis, Shannon Lewis, Victoria Denny-Lailey, Kelly Russell-Amy, Carri Chillingworth, Shawnna Djorsev-Browne, Erika Barnett, Courtney Taylor, Julie Tremblay, Catherine Garacci, Tom Hayes, Vivian Goulding, Julie Tronstad and a brand new member Shayne-Monique, she started last week !
We also have online team members who I help, those are too many to mention but Josiah Minner, Tamara Coulter and Josh Dotson are three that have come so far and have sent me video's to critique and have completed the Christmas Kettlebell Challenge, amazing ! Making people feel like they are part of a bigger team than training alone is important even if they are thousands of miles away. I am blessed to be able to help these amazing athletes.
So, the whole point of this log is to show off the wonderful gift my team presented Ken and I at our Team Christmas Party. This Granite carving with our logo and team signatures brought tears to my eyes. Not only is it a wonderful display of thoughtfulness and talent but it represents exactly what the Outlaws represent and that is Teamwork, being there for each other and representing with the utmost respect and dignity. A huge thank you to Kelly's friend Bryan Henderson for your hard work and talent, this masterpiece will hang in our front hallway with pride knowing we build this strong amazing team !
So to our all our team and especially the hard work Bryan Henderson put into making this gift, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, your thoughtfulness will never ever be forgotten, Ken and I are proud coaches and consider you all family.
On behalf of the North American Kettlebell Club have a very Merry Christmas to all, safe travel, spend time with your loved ones, family and friends, and all the best in 2016.
