Block 9, Wave 2 - Events @ Colosseum
Today I was finally able to actually train events at Colosseum, where I am privileged to train during the week now. Sadly, since I was so blasted from my earlier awesomeness of a few days ago, I didn't do anything earth-shattering. Plus, with the forecast of scary weather (we seriously name winter storms now for no other purpose than to make them seem worse than they are), I saw ne'ery another strongman or strongwoman until I was almost finished.
Medicine Ball Stone Throws
4ea x lightest
3ea x 8
2ea x 12
To say I am dangerously inaccurate with my left arm would be like saying Antarctica is a little bit cold.
Single Arm Farmer's Walk
~150' ea x 55
3x ~150' ea x 105
I kept the weight lighter today to see if maintaining a more upright body position would allow me to use more gluteus medius. Anecdotally, I do not think so, therefor I'll go back to using heavi(er) weights for this in the future. All runs were done with a turn at the halfway point.
Tire Flip
10x500 - All one motion.
4x6x700 - Much improved from the last time I flipped this tire in terms of speed, technique, and consistency.
Tackyless Atlas Stones (to 56" platform)
5x225
5x250
Stopped after 2 sets because my right knee was feeling a little wonky, like something was tight and I just needed to loosen it up to fix the issue, but I had places to go (Black Flag Brewery) and people to meet (Bambi and his fam). I'll be back in Salisbury next weekend since I'm presenting on mobility for a few different strength sport related issues in the shoulders and hips.
