I recently lifted in the 2019 APF Raw Challenge in Chicago. I ended up with an 1802 total via a 705 squat, 463 bench and 633 deadlift.

Good accessory day before heading out of town again. This time was for fun, not for work. Didn't plan to train at all while traveling so a couple sessions got skipped.

Brian Carroll always talked with me about this as "credits and debits." When we are training hard for a meet, we make a lot of "withdrawals" from the life account. You beat up your body, are hyper focused on the gym and can be generally difficult to be around. The training cycle takes priority over a lot of stuff. So, in the off season, you have to make some deposits in that account. Take the vacation and skip the gym, move a few sessions around to go out with your significant other, that kind of stuff. Build up some credit so when you are 6 weeks out and start saying no to social activities and aren't flexible your account balance is nice and full. Makes managing your relationships a lot easier. Being 18ish weeks away from a meet, I'm making deposits into my life account.

Training

Wide Stance SS Yoke Squat - 315 x 6 x 2

Stiff Leg Deadlift- 315 x 3 x 3

Leg Extension - Build Ups - 115 for 2 sets. Made it up to 11 reps both times. I really like using this strategy for quad work. I've struggled to really get much out of some of these movements for a while. Doing something more challenging like this seems to have a better training effect and is quick to do.

T-Bar Row - 3 plates x 4 x 8

Planks - 30 seconds x 4 x 1
