Training is done and it finished up with a fizzle. The tendonitis is coming along, but I can’t train hard and expect it to heal at the same time. The good thing is even though the arm bothered me, the 455 on the bench felt like an empty bar. I stopped there because it will be my last warm up for a 500 opener.
Considering I hate not training I figured I could squat with the ssb on Saturday and just not use my arms. Interestingly, I think I squatted with much better form as a result. I’ll be interested to give it a go after the meet. I kept the weight really light and just moved. Mission accomplished.
With the tendonitis still lingering, Monday was a no go for training. I warmed up like I was training just to get the blood flowing and stretch the rest of the body out. I hit the treadmill for 40 minutes to burn a few calories. I’m only 12 lbs over, but I don’t want to have to cut more than that.
So the self massage, ice, and heat, the tendonitis is coming along. I’m still taking 2400 mgs of motrin for the time being. I really feel like it will be in the high 90% by the competition. Like everyone says, you can never come into a meet feeling totally 100%. If you do, you should worry.
