Part of being an athlete is knowing how to interpret what your body is trying to tell you. Sometimes that means sucking it up and taking a breather. If you train every time you feel beat to shit, eventually you are going to wear yourself into the ground and it'll take much longer to get yourself back to a point where you feel good again. Today was one of those days for me. After two very long days of packing and moving, plus days of less than satisfactory sleep, I was spent this morning. So I called it a day and took a nap instead. Sometimes your body just says no, and you gotta comply.
That being said, I have finally gotten everything moved into the new place, and now it's just about unpacking. Tomorrow I have training in the afternoon, and Friday is jiujitsu and conditioning, so I will still be able to get in a few sessions this week which is much better than nothing at all! My throat is just a bit scratchy and I can't afford to get sick at the moment. Next week will be much more balanced with everything put in it's right place, and a new work schedule. I'm excited!
Shout-out to my homie and fellow EliteFTS teammate Mickey for absolutely KILLING it at her meet today! Amazing job girl! That deadlift is no joke. <3
