Well. That is not what I wanted to hear.
I had my follow up with Dr. Shim to go over what is going on with my knee. He had great delivery of pretty shitty news.
He told me that if I continue the direction I'm going, I will need a replacement in in about 4-5 years.
I have absolutely no cartridge left on the bottom surface my femur, which is causing the meniscus to try and cushion everything that is happening inside the knee.
He told me he would never tell me to stop lifting because he knows how passionate I am about it. Having my knee replaced is kind of a shitty thing to think about. He said either way, I will be in pain for the rest of my life.
We as a family, are going to go over the different options and see what is the best for me and for us.
