I am all about having fun and bantering with the people in the gym. We go back and forth with regularity. The "Student/Athletes" and I have a great dialogue with just the right sarcastic remarks.

HOWEVER ! ! !

There comes a certain point that sarcasm and banter can and DOES turn into a level of "disrespect"

I have never called myself or introduced myself as "Coach". That's like nicknaming yourself. You can do it, but it's better if you don't.

I am the Gym Teacher in my gym. I have a gym and I teach, hence "Gym Teacher".

When people start to approach that level of disrespect instead of fun and games, I have a well-known (and notorious) stare in which I can see that person's soul.

MOST, will give up on the conversation, apologize, and return to the activity. The rare instance the disrespect continues, I remind the individual of the Order of Hierarchy, and how close to TERMINATION they are getting.

Push it and have fun, but don't be a complete ASSHOLE and go too far, and OH BOY, you know when you've gone too far with me.
