When working with a new athlete in person or online there needs to be a system in place to assess your client and to find their needs. This process can be done in several ways but I prefer to have a few key systems in place to make sure I can start the client out in the best possible way. I send a questionnaire out to collect all the data points necessary to decide whether or not that client is ready for their goals or if they are even a good fit. I will then proceed to asks follow ups to make sure there are no gaps in my assessment, this is where I look for red flags that may require more work such as blood work, stress tests, PT help, etc...

Once everything s good, I ask for training videos or pictures and a food journal depending on what service they signed up for. After reviewing those things I begin to build out their program. I wanted to lay out my approach as thoroughly as I can so you as a coach can start to build out your own assessment strategy.
