Relentless Detroit proved to be a decent meet, but in all reality, it was a tune-up meet for Relentless Minnesota. I spent Nov.-Jan really pushing some of my raw work on all 3 lifts. Strategically working on some weak points, both muscularly and technically. Getting back in my gear mid-January and will be placing that in according to the calendar to have enough skill work in the gear before the meet. My plan is to compete at Relentless Minnesota March 28th in the 123# weight class. Questions about my training, diet, coaching, clients, etc... I will always answer! Just send a question in! I spent the weekend out in New Jersey doing a seminar at Pump Strength and Performance with Scott Paltos. Quick recap of the seminar is
here. But I'll add some more thoughts on the seminar in another log. Got there Friday with some time to train in the afternoon. We hit some speed squats and some accessory work. Good training session. Pretty cool gym set up with some elitefts stuff scattered throughout. Speed Box squats Worked up to 255 for 5 sets of 2 Stiff legged deads 155x8 1 95x6 245x3 155x15 155x5 conv, x5 sumo @ 3 sets Banded 45* Back Raise, light band x10 warm up set Double banded x5, single banded x5, bodyweight x5 I one-upped him on the second set doing 10 bodyweight, so he one-upped me on the pullups each time. Supersetted these with Pullups set started off at 5, then moved to 8, 9, 10, 11... Upper back band work and done. When you think about your own training sessions, do you have someone there to push you? And I don't mean just be a cheer leader. Years ago when I would visit Westside, you would always see guys one-upping their training partners. Doing another set, adding another plate, hitting a couple more reps. Doesn't mean they went nuts and drove each other into the ground, but it pushed them just a little more... make them want to outdo the other guy just enough. A little friendly bragging rights.
