So I'm a week out from the XPC finals and so far, everything looks OK. Not ideal, but OK. I had a little bit of a stomach bug over the weekend. It wasn't anything major and I kicked it quickly, but getting sick anywhere near a meet always makes me nervous. To add even more stress, both my wife and kid are both sick, so I'm doing my best to avoid catching something myself. It sucks to avoid physical contact with my family, but I just can't afford to take the chance this far out. Otherwise, everything seems to be good. I'm just started preparing to cut weight, and fortunately I managed to stay within 10 pounds of my class limit, so this should be one of my easier cuts. Just this morning I was only 8 pounds over. I guess there's nothing to do at this point other than wait and try to visualize a successful meet. I don't really get all that nervous for meets anymore, mostly just excited. It took me a long time to get into anywhere near meet shape, and I'm incredibly happy and grateful to be this close. That's all until the meet I guess, Thanks for reading along!
