Relentless Minnesota, despite some of the trials, had an awesome result in the end. A PR squat at 123, a PR deadlift at 123 and an all-time PR total of 1122! Now, I am moving on to Physique prep training and dieting. First show is Junior Nationals June 12 & 13. These 10 weeks will continue to focus on my weak points (shoulders, quads and some more separated hamstrings) as well as groove my raw bench work a bit. Amit Sapir is doing my diet and nutritional needs this year. Training details will be laid out as we go. If you have any questions regarding diet, training, programming, and more, just send me a question!   I typically love leg day. It's always hard, but I love seeing how much I can push through pain. I knew I needed to step back today to get my squat pattern right. Years of bad habits and I have a tendency to use my back out of the hole. So really trying to avoid that has been tough. It's frustrating, but I know if I work on that now, it will pay off in the long run. Went into the session with a LOT in my head. Sometimes your head is your own worst enemy. Too much going on, too many thoughts, too much thinking. I stayed in the corner of the gym where all the squat racks were. Hardly anyone talked to me, so I was able to keep my head down and get my work done. Keeping my mind off the stress was tough today but the long session helped. Training seems to be the one constant thing in life. Many of us go there to forget distractions and to push beyond physical capabilities. It gives us that escape, even if it's just a few hours. It allows us to clear our minds and do something we love and something we are good at. It gives me a break from trying to fix the stress right now. Because let's face it, sometimes things in life take time and it won't change overnight. That doesn't bode well with my fix-it now mentality. So I just need to be patient. MONDAY - Legs and some lats Single Leg leg curls - 2x10 each NOTE: Found a standing/kneeling single leg curl machine. Good warm up, good squeeze. Leg Extension - 2x20 NOTE: I always forget how much I hate these. Narrow Stance Squats barx10 95x6 115x6 135x6 165x6 185x6 195x6 NOTE: with the narrow stance, I really tried not to hinge/sit back too far. I have a tendency to do that and I end up using my back too much instead of my legs. Wide Stance Squats 135x6 155x6 155x6 155x6 NOTE: again, focused on my hams and glutes and legs and hips doing the work, and staying a little more upright so as to not put it on my back. 1.5 rep Stiff legged deads 4x6 @ 145 NOTE: went deep on these below the feet. The 1.5 reps was tough. DD Pulldowns 5x10 Deficit Lunges 4x10 each NOTE: These suck. Again. Stayed more upright. Stiff arm Pulldown 4x20 Eccentric leg curls, 4 count down 4x5 Rows x100 reps   Borrowed a suit (Thanks Angela!) until mine from Cynthia James gets done. I spoke with CJ about a month ago, looking for a suit and she is in the process of building a custom suit for me for NPC Junior Nationals. Suit won't be done until about 2 weeks before and I wanted to have a suit to pose and take pics in... as pics look waaay different in a suit than they do in a bikini.
