Elitefts™ Sponsored Pro Bodybuilder Mark Dugdale demonstrates how to increase tension on the vastus lateralis by using Elitefts™ Pro Light Resistance Bands on the leg press.

To perform this variation correctly:

  • Place feet in the middle of the platform.
  • Leave a few inches between your feet and slightly turn toes outwards.
  • Carefully lock out each repetition and dorsiflex (pull toes off foot plate) so that the weight is all on your heels.
This technique in combination with the bands will place more tension on the vastus lateralis and help create sweep to the quadriceps.
