You can load these up quite heavy and this is a great way to not have to worry about balancing a barbell in front of you in an awkward position.

Make sure the pressure stays on your heels; simply adjust how far / close you need to stand from the base of the grappler to ensure the heels stay flat.

Keep the neutral lower back and do not round out the lower back.

This can also be a combo movement of squats & press — AKA thrusters.
