I've been getting a lot of requests for music stuff so I'm going to keep this post going for as longs as I can and update it when I come across something that I think is somewhat worthwhile. Please understand that I'm a music snob, so don't take offense that I don't like a lot of metal stuff...I don't like Amon Amarth because they have beards! Anyway, some of these may be repeats. __________ All time heavy albums What I call "heavy" may be different than your definition - which is probably wrong. But, here are some of the heaviest albums of all time. This will be constantly updated as I remember them. Black Sabbath is not included (the Ozzy years) as they’re too awesome to be on this list. 1. Buried at Sea - Migration 2. Sleep - Jerusalem 3. Electric Wizard - Dopethrone 4. Iron Monkey - S/T 5. Sour Vein - Emerald Vulture EP 6. Floor - S/T 7. Indian - Slights and Abuse/The Sycophant 8. Eyehategod - everything they've ever done 3/16/2010 Neurosis - This is absolutely crushing (Guess which one is a school teacher!) ______________ Cattlepress - Crowskin. This band was amazing, but is now gone. Too bad. See if you can get the CD, Hordes to Abolish the Divine. _______________ Isis - Celestial (The Tower) live. I had the opportunity to see them live during this tour and they were BY FAR the heaviest band I've ever seen live. They’ve since moved on from this “evolution” stage, but this song was like getting hit by a tidal wave of hate. ________________ Alice in Chains - Layne Staley has some great lyrics in this one - and a great vocalist. Lyrics are below. Lyrics: You insult me in my home You're forgiven this time Things go well, your eyes dilate You shake, and I'm high? Look in my eyes deep and watch The clouds change with time 20 hours won't print My picture milk carton size Carton size Carton size Call me up congratulations Ain't the real why There's no pressure besides brilliance Let's say by day 9 Endless corporate ignorance lets Me control time By the way, by the way, by the way, by the way Once again you see an in Discolored skin gives you away So afraid you kindly gurgle out a date For me Now the body of one soul I adore Wants to die You have always told me you'd Not live past 25 I say stay long enough to repay All who caused strife Once again you see an in Discolored skin gives you away So afraid you'd kindly gurgle out a date For me ______________ Burning Witch - Only for true doom/sludge fanatics. Death to false hippy doom! If any of you want to know what SunnO))) should be doing...it's this. ________________ Entombed - one of the finest guitar tones ever. __________ Johnny Cash - Rusty Cage (cover) ____________ Soundgarden - Rusty Cage (original version) _________ Kyuss - Green Machine _____________________ Kyuss - Into the Void (best cover song ever) ______________ Soundgarden - 4th of July (Massive Riff) 3/15/2010 Buried at Sea - Ghost _____________ Few things heavier than this: ____________ From a previous post - Top Releases of 2009 1. Cobalt – Gin. Album of the year for me. Everything else in random order: Naplam Death - Time Waits... Gaza - He is Never Coming Back Yob - Great Cessation Tombs - Winter Hours Kowloon Walled City - Gambling on the Richter Scale Weekend Nachos - Unforgivable _____________________ Cobalt - Just wait until 3:20/4:38 of this song. ______________ More Cobalt ________________________ A little blast from high school: ___________ Misfits: 1. Earth A.D. 2. Queen Wasp 3. Devilock 4. Death Comes Ripping ____________ New Coffinworm - Start Saving for Your Funeral. This kicks a ton of ass and the riff around 4:50 rules. Listen if you want a slice of blackened sludge - produced by Sanford Parker! Coffinworm (for those that call hell, home) __________ You like death metal? Think Job for a Cowboy is a brokeback? Listen to this: Vasaeleth - Wrathful Deities True Death Metal is here __________ Posted this before, but worth posting again: Tombs - Gossamer __________ Weekend Nachos Weekend Nachos ___________ Sea of Bones – Crushing sludge/doom. ___________ Craft has a new LP coming soon, Void. Their MySpace page has some samples from the new album. Craft – Swedish Black Metal Craft is a black metal band that knows the value of killer riffs - their LP, Fuck the Universe is amazing. I highly recommend it. _________ Indian - The Unquiet Sky promo video __________ Indian - The Sycophant (live) __________ Floor - live and heavier than Rosie and Oprah ___________ Torche - former Floor, tearing shit up at SXSW __________ Unearthy Trance - Permanent Ice __________ Weedeater - Bull Elite Fitness Systems strives to be a recognized leader in the strength training industry by providing the highest quality strength training products and services while providing the highest level of customer service in the industry.
