Elitefts™ Advisor and Owner of Mountain Dog Training and Nutrition John Meadows performs squats with the elitefts™

Tsunami Bar.

The use of this bar creates an increased stimulation of the proprioceptors. When these sensory receptors are stimulated at a higher degree than a standard barbell it allows for greater muscle activation and stabilization.

Keys to Success:

  • Set the barbell at shoulder height inside a rack.
  • Position the bar so it rests across your shoulders and below your neck.
  • Position your arms wide on the bar.
  • With a tight core push up the bar with your legs and walk the bar out from the rack.
  • Feet placement should be shoulder width apart.
  • Slightly point toes outward.
  • Inhale into the stomach and bend the knees until you reach desired depth of squat.
  • Push through the heels and straighten the legs to return to a starting position, exhale.
  • Repeat for desired number of reps.
