Monday was a bench day. Frustrated by my previous performance, I decided to work up again, this time in my Ace shirt. The King prototype I've been using has been great, but I think it's a little big for me at the moment. Since I'm a few pounds lighter than the last time I used my Ace, I figured I'd give it another go.

After warming up, I went:

135 x 5 1

85 x 1

225 x 1

275 x 1

315 x 1

Put shirt on and took plate jumps for my next few sets.

405 - 3 board

495 - 2 board

585 - 1 board

635 - touch

675 - 1 1/2 board

The 635 wasn't the cleanest because I got a little lose at the start, but I touched and locked it out. I was really fighting the shirt, but I know that if I wet it next time, it will be a little more forgiving. The 675 to the board felt nice and strong throughout the lift.

In the past few months, I've developed a bad habit of getting pinned under the rack at the top of the lift. my training partner Justin had observed that I wasn't getting my elbows out early enough off the chest, which was making me lose the bar over my face a bit. I took his advice today, and it did make a difference. So hopefully I'm on the road to eliminating a bad flaw in my technique.
