I'm currently training for USS "Hope for the Holidays" strongman competition that'll be in St. Louis on December 19th. I'll be competing in the max log clean & press and max deadlift events. I'm also still focusing on adding some size, but strength is my main emphasis. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my programming. After competing in December my next competition plans will more than likely be USS Nationals or NAS Plat+ next summer.

The log felt much better this week than the previous two weeks. I was working up to 90% for a double and based on my previous two weeks I figured my max on that log at the moment to be 230. I figured 230 for 90% and it was 292.5, which normally I'd round up to 295. However with the log feeling like crap the last two weeks and my hips/lower back being tight I was conservative and rounded to 290. The double went up so fast and easy and felt really strong. I feel I had 1-2 more reps no problem. So I'd say it was a bit less than 90%, but it felt good regardless.

The floor press felt really strong today too. I'm pretty happy with how things are progressing as I get my technique back down.
