This April, I competed at CPU Nationals, placing second in the 63kg open category with an 825 lb total, just one pound behind first place. With the guidance of Steve Goggins, I am in pursuit of greatness, both on and off the platform.

On Saturday I went out to visit some local powerlifters to train in their home gym. I'm really enjoying finding new people to train with, especially on my heavy days. It's nice not having to worry about running around the gym hoping to find a half decent spotter, and its even better to have people to cheer you on as you lift. I hope to continue to meet more local powerlifters, and pick up some great training partners along the way.

These deadlifts went very well. I used a stiff bar which was a definite change from my last heavy day when I used a texas deadlift bar. It felt surprisingly easier to perform these touch and go deads with the stiff bar since it doesn't have the same bounce I was able to control the bar better.
