Sunday was my first squat session back since qualifying for the XPC finals last week.

The movement was a ssbar squat with an average band. Tougher than what I would normally do the first session back, but I was feeling better than normal after this meet, so said f*ck it and jumped in.

I don't want to use as much gear now that I'm post meet, but I wasn't quite ready to go raw just yet, so I compromised by using an old basic pro brief that I cut the bottom seams off of. It really doesn't give me much, but it helps keep my hips nice and tight on the box. I also set the box a half inch lower than I did for the last meet cycle.

Started with the bar (65) and then went:

band x 5

155 x 2

245 x 1

295 x 1

335 x 1

385 x 1

425 x 1

475 x 1

515 x 1

The 515 was a GRIND, but I made it. When I looked back to check my pr, I was pissed to find out that it was 515, and I had just repeated it. On the bright side though, the last time I did this movement I was wearing a suit bottom, vs a light, torn up brief today.

Next up were belt squats, where I worked up to a set of 8 with 4 plates per side plus a doubled average band looped under the stack. I felt strong enough for more, but my feet were sliding out on me and I didn't want to tear my groin on the first day back.

Finished with back extensions and incline sit-ups.
