I skipped my secondary bench last week. I had every intention of training, I got as far as warming up, lying on the bench, and doing a few reps with the bar. My body had other plans. I had just seen the chiro a few hours before and my back didn't feel safe to load after an adjustment. Some may say I'm a pansy, that I should have grinded through it, but I've kept injury free for the majority of my lifting career by listening to my body in situations like these. I'm 20-30 weeks out from a potential meet, so what's the point in risking anything? This happens often enough though, maybe once or twice a month. I'll go to the gym, warm up, touch a bar, and there's a loud voice inside me that says 'Not today Meana'. Now that voice is usually there for a good reason because every part of my soul wants to train, to push, to grind - for years. It's my way of paying into an insurance policy.
Bench Barx10 95x8 135x6 155x5 175x5 190x9 - supposed to be 8, but counting is hard 195x7
Wide grip face pulls - with spud ab strap 4x15
Tate press Ok so on the program was tricep extensions, but I'm a very competitive person and saw a coach at the gym doing tate presses with 40's and Seth said he thought I could beat him. Then I got into a competitive zone and we went set to set. It made me remember how much I love training with a reach - someone stronger than me, who I'll bust my ass trying to beat. 25x10 35x10 45x10 50x10
