Last Sunday was a full gear deadlift session, my last before the meet in mid-September.

The plan was to work up to around a second attempt. my grip has been the biggest issue with my deadlift lately, so I was really hoping to be able to hold onto anything over 605. For the first time in years, my back is not holding back my pull, but I guess years of not being able to deadlift a lot have allowed my grip to weaken.

Anyway, Started with a plate for a bunch of reps, then put hundreds on and worked up from there.

245 x 5

335 x 1

425 x 1

515 x 1

565 x 1

605 x 1

The 605 moved pretty smoothly and my hook grip seemed to hold out ok. I would have like the pull to be a little easier, but I'm a little beat up and badly need a de-load right now. A couple weeks of taking it easier should have me at 100% by the meet.

After the pulls I was gonna do some grip work, but my training partners were working up in the squat, and not to suck my own d**k, but I'm a really good knee wrapper, and I wound up wrapping 3 of them for multiple attempts.

After wrapping them for about 9 or 10 squats, no extra grip work was necessary, my hands and forearms were shot!

Next up were 4 sets of 15 reverse hypers

4 sets of 15 flute ham raises

4 sets of 15 pull-down abs
