Never forget where you came from.

It's a Sunday, and I happen to not be lifting today, unless you count packing and stacking boxes for my move on Tuesday. So I'm just reflecting a little bit. I will always re-post the picture on the left because it is a constant reminder to myself of how far I have come and how far I still have left to go.

On the left I had very nearly given up on myself and my life. Now 5 years later I have promised myself I would never return to that point again. It is so crazy to see how I came from such a dark place and made a turn-around. Sometimes we don't always see progress happening, but that doesn't mean that we aren't moving forward. For myself, it was a long and painful process through every phase. But I found and fell in love with powerlifting, and it quite literally saved my life. I will never forget what this sport has done for me and my confidence.

Mental illness is a real thing, and you never know what people around you may be going through. Be a listening ear, because you never know when someone might need it the most.
