I'm taking the next 12+ weeks off from strongman events and training primarily for hypertrophy with a slight strength emphasis. I'm in my "off-season" and looking to put on some size over the upcoming months and into next year. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my programming.

I decided to head up to Mayfield, KY for this session to train with Clint Darden, Shane Solomon, Marty Jackson and a few others at Primal Iron. Clint and Brian King were squatting, Shane and Jason Acree were deadlifting and I was training arms. I'm not going to lie, seeing them move heavy weight made me hungry to get back to training more strength based again. However I'm enjoying what I'm doing now and I know in 6 more weeks I'll be even hungrier.

Nothing too exciting about this day. It felt good and I had a huge pump. I did do a set of 205# (410# total) no warm up farmers walk in my flip flops as I was leaving. Shane and Acree were training farmers after deadlifts and it was just too tempting. I'd say my speed was ok for wearing flip flops.
