I recently lifted in the 2019 USPA National Championships where I totaled 1769 in wraps at 198 via a 655 squat, 451 bench and 661 deadlift. I'll be lifting at an APF meet in Chicago this December to wrap up the year.

Was feeling a little run down last week. My body is beat up as expected at this point and I think I have been toeing the line of getting sick too. Rather than barrel through like a meathead moron, I pulled back on my accessory stuff this week. Combining both day 3 and 4 into one post.

My philosophy is that in the last few weeks before a meet you aren't going to get much stronger. You will peak but in terms of actual strength, you aren't making much of a difference. So the accessory work doesn't matter as much. You can, in the last few weeks, massively mess yourself up. I take the conservative route. Availability trumps ability every single time. (That means making it to the meet means a lot more than being strong but broken.)

Day 3

Chin Ups - 4 x 5

Lat Pulldown - 160 x 4 x 8

Chest Supported Row - 140 x 5 x 10

Leg Extension/Leg Curl - 2 x 20 super set

This session was as uninspired as it looks on your screen.

Day 4

Close Grip Incline - 3 x 5 @ 225

Pushups - 4 x 15

Rope Pressdown - 4 x 15

Preacher Curls - 5 x 10

Again, another boring one.

My objective for both days was to leave the gym feeling better than I did when I came in and be ready to train hard on the weekend. Got that done both days.
