*GREAT ARTICLE WORTH CHECKING OUT - MY YEARS WITH HIT TRAINING *

Nothing will content him who is not content with a little.    - Greek Proverb

I try to read 1-2 hours per day and each day I like to review different proverbs because they make me think.  This one in particular struck me because the little things matter more than we think. This is why we take them for granted but always think back and say,

"Damn, I wish I would have....."

Today was one of those days that was made up of a bunch of little things that began to annoy the hell out of me. I like to take chucks out of big projects even if they are just little chips, I have learned over time these little chips add up but should not be confused with the little things.

For example today was Arm Day (from a training perspective a day I can't stand because it's not hard to do and to me it's like doing "little things". Here is what I did...

Standing Dumbbell Curls
* 5 warm up sets of 10
* 4 work sets of 10-12 (to failure)

Spider Curls
* 4 work sets of 12-15 (to failure)

Hammer Curls
*4 work sets of 10-12 (to failure)

Pushdowns
* 6 warm up sets of 15
* 4 double sets of 12/12

Seated Dip Machine
* 4 sets of 12-15 (to failure)

That was it, not that hard and nothing special. Didn't even have much fun doing it but in some odd way being able to do these types of sessions has taught me to enjoy the "little things" more. Like, watching every one of my sons baseball games (as I did before training). To be honest this would not have been the case 12-15 years ago. It would have been in the way of my training and work and I would have found reasons to not go to many of the games,

Maybe this is why I only see 5 Dads on his team at these games. They are all to busy with work and life and just see these games as "little things", and it's all good if they just make the ones on the weekends, Maybe it's little to them but it isn't little to the kids holding the bats. I understand circumstances do not allows allow for parents to make every single game but a simple call asking how they did, while just a "little thing" can matter.

All those years could I have been looking for content in the BIGGER things when really needed to find it first in the little things; things like training arms, watching a slow and boring ball game, spending time alone reading. thinking, decompressing. Not sure, but it seems right to me now so I'm rolling with it.

Maybe it's about starting small not dreaming big
