This is considered an old school exercise only because no one does it anymore and I'm not entirely convinced it was ever a staple exercise in anyone's program.
It's really simple: take a barbell and raise it out in front of you. Repeat as necessary.
Look at the picture of Dave. His left ear looks as if he has a big pirate earring in it. Maybe he inserts an earring in it to give him special Pirate Powers that few know about. Maybe he calls upon the ghosts of Captain Kidd and Blackbeard for guidance in his training. That would probably explain his recent obsession with do-rags and parrots.
