Knowing is not enough, you must apply; willing is not enough, you must do.” —Bruce Lee

Everything has gone haywire—the educational system, books, the media, the internet. We’re on a blind search for healthier lives, choices, and bodies, but we don’t know where to start because there’s so much irrelevant information out there. We choose to look past the basics of a healthier life or at least refuse to try what really will have an impact.

There aren’t any supplements, diets, exercise programs, pills, electromagnetic bedding, doctors, chiropractors, trainers, dieticians, books, or anything else that will help you get to where you desire to go unless you decide to go and do. Want to get in shape and stay in shape? Then move your butt.

Prowler pushes, hill sprints, walking, “yogging” with a soft ‘J’, swimming, weight lifting—I don’t care. We spend too much time deciding and living in fear of the way it’s going to feel that we end up not going and not doing. I hate to tell you this, but you will fail in every aspect of health if you refuse to be consistent at moving. It’s your choice. I’m not going to waste my time explaining what a Prowler is or how long you should exercise for, at what heart rate, or at what modality. It doesn’t matter. There are too many talkers and not enough walkers. Just move. You spend enough time sitting on your butt at the computer. You can figure out conditioning tools to work with. In the words of Jim Wendler, “Push it, pull it, lift it; you’ll figure [stuff] out.”

Want to lose fat weight and keep it off? Stop eating garbage food (i.e. food that you can’t read what’s on the ingredient list). Stop drinking alcohol, red wine included. Get to bed before 10:30 p.m. Drink half your body weight in ounces of water per day. Eat in non-stressful environments. Eat a properly balanced diet with macronutrients for your metabolic type. Eat three times per day, eight times per day, or whatever. Just eat good balanced meals with the television off. Don’t listen to anybody who doesn’t practice what they preach (i.e. a fat doctor). And oh yea—move your butt.

Want a better body and more self-confidence without all the supplements and the quick fix? It takes hard work, investment, and proper goal setting. What’s your goal? Why is that your goal? How are you going to achieve that goal? Who are the people you need to associate with to achieve your goal? What’s the timeframe in which you want to accomplish that goal? Read and learn from those who have been in the war, not those who pretend. Want to be a bodybuilder? Read Arnold Schwarzenegger’s books, watch his videos, and do.

Want to have abs like the girl in Shape magazine? Stop drinking Starbucks, quit working in the restaurant/club business, and go to bed before 2:00 a.m. Read what that chick is doing for her cookie cutter workout and do it until progression stops. Then switch to something else.

There’s too much standing around and waiting. Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow. Take charge of your life. You can change. You can grow. You can accomplish your goals. I believe in you. Believe in yourself.
