Block 9, Wave 1 - BP

Christmas (my second and a half one) was outstanding.  My girlfriend and I hosted her Mom and Granddad.  Much to my chagrin, there was high demand for a turkey this year, despite me presenting other possible choices.  I have nothing against turkey in general as a protein source, but I often prefer some less traditional holiday options when possible and turkey for both Thanksgiving and Christmas has worn a bit thin.  HOWEVER, I must say that I cooked one of the two the best turkeys I've ever had this year and after doing so, I'd definitely do it again in the future.  I brined it (the other best turkey I've had was cooked by one of my girlfriend's cousins and was also brined) and it was amazing.  To further boost the stock of turkey as a viable meal choice for future holidays, my girlfriend used the leftovers to make turkey reubens from the famous Schmokel recipe, handed down through the German side of her heritage.  She makes BY FAR the best reubens I have ever had in my life which also happen to be the greatest sandwich in the world in my opinion.  So with all the upsides to this turkey, I am now no longer against the famous fowl as a food option for Christmas.

After a full day of cleaning, cooking, eating, drinking, present opening, football watching, and dish washing though, I was feeling like feckin' dawg shite today for training.  Normally, I would have just pushed it back a day, but since I am moving at the end of the week for a six week clinical affiliation for PT school, I figured sub-par training was better than no training so I went out to the garage to do some work.
