Congratulations to Orlando Barbell’s Jon Burnham for competing in his first equipped meet in single ply at the Rick Lawrence Memorial APF Southern States at the Iron Compound Gym last weekend. He squatted an easy 755, benched an easy raw opener of 424, coming close with a shirted 622 (which was his first time touching in this shirt), pulled an easy 666, coming very close with 716 for an 1845 total which will be much more once he gets everything dialed in. A solid showing for his first time in gear. Thanks to Stephen Harper for helping to handle him, Allie and Trinity for their support, and Shawn and Claudia Knowles for running a great meet. Jon followed my advice utilizing the gradually increasing ROM of the

M2 Equipped Method on all of his max effort days leading into the meet. As I told him, competing in gear is an ongoing learning experience. We know what he needs to work on to and I’m sure he’ll continue to put up bigger and bigger numbers.
