I have a whiteboard that I write what I want the team to achieve on a daily basis. What I've come to recognize is the MORE detail I write, the more confused the people get.

If I write the exercise: sets x reps x approximate weight, then all I get is..."Is that all?"

However, if I write the exercise, sets, reps, weight, a few coaching cues, I get asked everything from the basic "Whaaaaat????" all the way to "The fuck am I doing here?"

When I give an exercise plan that consists of two maybe three movements...NO PROBLEM!

Get more involved than that and there is a paralysis of analysis. No one moves.

If I can answer a very involved question in one to five words...I'm a freak'n genius.

If I go on a long-winded diatribe then the person has that blank stare and drool coming out of the corner of their mouth.

Lastly..."If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

In other words, if something has been working well, there is no need to change it for the sake of change. Who gives a shit if boredom is the next stop. No one is bored with success!
