I went yesterday to the Accupuncture dude who spent an hour and 45 minutes working on my sciatic nerve pain. After me waking myself up three times by snoring, he and I came up with some cool revelations. 1. The origin of this peskiness is not L-5 but from L-4. (my boy is wicked smaaat) 2. I have really strong Glute Meds...which has been in contracture and that has compounded the pain. 3. (Here's the deal breaker) I need to stretch. F...MEEEEE! I'm flexible but I haven't done jack crap to help my aging joints. My IT band is that of a "C" chord they are so tight and my knees won't adduct at ALL. Now that doesn't seem to be an issue if you want to squat a ton, but as far as relaxing the glutes??? Nope! I suppose this makes me an official "Tight Ass". Looks like it's going to be sessions of Exercise a set, roll out on a lax ball. Exercise a set, stretch like a yoga jock for a bit. Good thing I work in a gym.
