This past week was a squat and bench session at Apollon. My small weight loss combined with a post-Arnold layoff is kind of kicking my ass a bit. I just never felt quite right on Sunday, due in no small part to the movement, which was a yolk bar free squat with an average band. I used briefs for the first time in almost two months, and when I slipped them on (yes, slipped) it was clear the were way too big, and didn't give me a damn ounce of support, lol. I did find a smaller pair that used to be too tight, and they fit a bit better. I worked up to about 475 with the band. It was a good rep, but I knew I didn't have much more in me, so that was all. Finished up wth reverse hypers and abs. I don't stay in the gym quite as long these days because my son is taking swim lessons and I like to be there to watch. As I get closer to a meet, I will start sacrificing a bit more personal time to get ready. Monday was a bench day, and lucky me, more bands This time it was a 2 board press with doubled monster minis. I worked up to a pretty solid rep with 285, and that was all she wrote. I also worked up to 3 sets of 5 with 225 on a seated OH press, did a ton of t-bar rows, and then some light triceps and shoulder work. Maybe some biceps curls got done as well... All in all a good week, but I'll be happy when the weight loss levels off and I can adjust to the new leverages for good!
