Conjugate training. If you’re an avid follower and reader of elitefts, you’ve probably heard the phrase a million times. But do you truly understand what it means?

Jim Wendler breaks the conjugate training method down as simply as possible.

Conjugate training is the raising of several levels at the same time. It’s getting bigger, stronger, and faster. It has nothing to do with certain exercises or certain phases.

And yet, it’s something that people just don’t get, or they say it without knowing what it means. Jim illustrates this with an exchange from The Princess Bride:

Jim thought he’d made it simple in seminars, but maybe not. But all conjugate training takes is a workout has strength, speed, mobility, size, and conditioning parts to it.

It’s that simple.
