Owner of NeboBarbell in North Carolina, Joey Smith takes us through the banded kettlebell shrug, a secret to getting those enormous traps!

Grab heavy

kettlebells, and loop an

EliteFTS™ Pro Average Resistance Band around the handle and hold in a neutral grip. Make sure to stand on a platform so the kettlebells don't touch the ground.

Shrug upward and hold for three bounces. After the third bounce, lower for two bounces, then continue.

The bounces add more perturbation and intensity than that of a barbell or set of dumbbells. Make sure you stay under control to get the full benefits of this variation.

For a different clientele, you could use a smaller kettlebell with a

Pro Light or even a

Pro Mini Resistance Band.
