The last few weeks of training have been challenging - mentally. I've taken for granted that I'm able and I'm not proud of it. Personal struggle is leaking into my training and it's become less of an outlet. This is frustrating to say out loud because I'm a huge advocate about how fortunate we are for being able. But I also don't have my shit together all the time either. So how do you balance that positive outlook and deal with personal struggle? With a feeling of failure? Don't hide from it. I don't preach perfection. But, if we face it and say the hurtful truth out loud, I believe that's the first step out of a dangerous spiral. Have some personal responsibility and own it.

With that current outlook, training went well today. I filled that belly up. I drove those heels down. I thought like a beginner athlete going through the checklist. Sometimes you have to take a step back to take two steps forward.
