5 Weeks Out from XPC Finals @ The Arnold Classic

Sunday I went in to my work and did some submax triples to work on breaking in my bench shirt. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to break in my shirt in time for this meet, but I asked Vincent Dizenzo his opinion and he said to go for it, and that if I do some submax rep work it'll help. So for week 1 I did 6x3 w/ 405lbs and was able to get the last reps down to within a few inches of my chest (a little further than I had gotten 495 last week).

Next week the plan will be to do the same thing with 435-455, and work on being aggressive on the descent. If I can really dig in here I think I can get some descent weights to touch soon. This is a good challenge and I need to embrace it.

I've also been trying to work on my mental approach to training in a few different ways that I think will help, and I'll go into those in the near future.

A. ShouldeRok Swings - 3x12 each side

B. Shirted Bench in Metal Pro - 6x3 w/ 405lbs

C2. Y/T Shoulder Drill - 4 rounds 10 reps each direction

D1. Rolling Dumbbell Extensions - 3x12

D2. Light Hammer Curls - 3x15
