Background: I work at OSU as a graduate teaching associate and lift at Ludus Magnus. I am a raw lifter who competes in the 105lb weight classes, and am currently prepping for my next meet (when grad school finally gives me a weekend off) . Currently, I am in the process of trying to accomplish my lofty lifting goals, survive graduate school, and teach undergraduates about what I really love, TRAINING..

Eccentric Week1: DE upper (Monday)

Warm up 3 rounds, total 300 reps Multi position rope slams

Neural prep 1. isometric plyo pushup 3 x 3

2. shoulder press to push press 3 x 2+1

Training 1. Contrast isometric speed bench 8 x 3+1 3 reps with isometric pause on either chest, before chest or after chest at 60% 1 rep fast as possible at 75%

3 rounds 2a. Push ups fail 2b. Lat pulldown with iso hold x 5 2c. Db row with iso hold x 5

Apparently, I was generating so much energy that when I was touching the barbell each time before I benched I was getting a static shock. I was just passing on too many molecules from my body to the barbell. It was pretty funny since it happened on every set. So image this, there I was at four AM yelping, "OUCH!!" before EVERY.SINGLE.REP.

I wonder if it was aiding to activate my CNS though, since bench went very smooth. LOL
