When I was writing my post last week about hurting my back, I was feeling pretty hopeless. I had asked the head of Ontario Powerlifting about medical exemptions and had received the least amount of information possible. I was in a place where I felt frustrated with my federation.

After I posted my log to facebook, I received an incredible amount of support from my peers in comments, private messages, texts, etc. After feeling so hopeless about my federation, I was thrown back by the response they gave me. It was enough to make me fall back in love with the community again.

I received a few messages with the details I needed for a medical exemption to give me a bye to nationals, and thankfully a few days later I got that medical exemption. I am so thankful for this, and I hope more people can be made aware or this, because we should not be hurting ourselves for token lifts at a provincial level meet!

As a side note, in my province, no matter how many times you have competed at a National/International level, you must participate in their Provincial championships.
