I’m currently in meet prep for the RPS Lexen Spring Fling in Columbus, Ohio on May 9th, 2015. I will be competing in my first multi-ply meet, going bench only at 148 pounds.
For programming and coaching inquires, please email SmitleyPerformanceSystems@gmail.comTuesday I got in my last real final day of rep work on my lower speed day before the meet. After this week I will hit some very minor speed work to kind of keep things around and still get some training in, but the rep work will fall off. I managed to hit a rep PR on deadlifts and probably had a few reps left looking at my footage, but I had already PR'd so I shut it down early. The rest of training was pretty light and smooth, and I'm basically "saving myself" for my final bench day and the meet.
I'm someone that has a hard time going on cruise control. I can do a great job of auto-regulating my training and listening to my body, I just hate "taking it easy". I know when my body tends to need a deload and when I can really push hard, but being somewhere between is tough for me. But the meet is the important thing and that's all there is to it.
