I’m currently in off season mode working on bringing up certain qualities and weaknesses I noticed from the IPA Grand Prix Nationals. This training will be laying the ground for my training cycle into the 2016 XPC Finals.
For programming and coaching inquires, please email SmitleyPerformanceSystems@gmail.comSaturday kicked off week 2 of the off season training, and like I mentioned last week, there is going to be more squatting. This week I went with a similar set up, but with a bit more accommodating resistance. My goal was to match or beat what I did at Elitefts. I managed to eek out 10 more pounds, which felt rather good. Not the prettiest stuff, but for max effort like work, I'll take it. I think this squatting more often, even if the variations are going to be changing, is going to be a good thing. I followed things up with lots of hamstring work (yet again) and more heavy ab work.
Slow and steady progress, but overall a great session. Good to be back squatting heavy with the guys in the garage after what seemed like forever.
