Saw some good powerlifting at the XPC meet yesterday. The stage was elevated and easy to see the lifters. I got to talk to a bunch of people I hadn’t seen in a while too. The social part of the sport is great and the comradely has always been something. I have to say the day was a success for powerlifting and the meet ran well from my perspective.

Headed to the compound to train like normal this morning. I did get a new test shirt from Metal that is a multiply shirt make with pro and king material. I’m looking forward to testing it out today. Training broke down like this…

Warm-ups

Stationary bike (3 minutes), Indian club swings, band pull aparts, reverse grip dumbbell press

Bench

Bar for a few

135 for 2 sets of 5 reps

225 for 5 reps

315 for 3 reps

Put on New Metal Shirt

365 air board for 3 reps – unable to touch 3 board

405 for 3 reps to a 3 board- had to break form to touch

455 for 2 reps to a 3 board

495 for 2 reps to a 3 board

545 for a single to a 3 board

585 for a single to a 3 board

Dumbbell rows

90 for 10 reps

150 for 4 sets of 10 reps

Standing military press

95 for 10 reps

135 for 10 reps

155 for 3 sets of 8 reps

I was pleased with today’s bench session. While I haven’t even come close to doing an actual bench press in the new shirt I like it so far. I did end up trimming about an inch and a quarter off the sleeves during the session but still need to get it fitting better. It’s the same size as my Ace but with being new is very ridged. A few more sessions and I think it will be great.
