I have always been a big fan of Ross Enamait's conditioning drills, and I thought I would take yesterday to try one out since I was short on time and wanted to get something fast in.

Holy hell.

Basically, I revisited an old conditioning drill called "The Dirty 50" I attempted a number of years ago, and I'm pretty sure it was like sudden death, which is why I never really tried it again. But I was feeling fairly brave yesterday.

Basically, it's the following:

  • 5 DB/KB snatches (per arm)
  • 5 DB/KB swings (per arm)
  • 10 explosive burpees
Five rounds, with a 30 second rest between each round.

Sounds pretty simple, right? Wrong. It's pure suckage. But it's also awesome.

If that's too easy, increase the weight. More weight will always = more intensity. By the end of those rounds you'll be sorry you ever questioned its simplicity.

Aside from that drill yesterday wasn't anything crazy. I did some lighter pause squats with 185 and some pullups.

Still in the midst of packing and moving things, and my work schedule has been switched again so my training schedule will also be changing. Thankfully it is actually a little more accommodating now and I can add in an extra jiujitsu session somewhere. :)

Some sick part of me actually enjoys conditioning again. I'm not sure how long that feeling will last but for now it's not so bad, haha.
