Injuries suck, set backs suck and if you let them get to you and your goals, depression sets in and that sucks even worse.

Since my shoulder injury in August I have been training without a purpose. Without a short term goal or competition in my near future it was easy to have an excuse other than I was tired of training just legs.

I have been training my legs, abs and doing my kettlebells with one arm but I have not been enjoying this training, so to me it has seemed without purpose.

On September 16th this mind set changed for me. My teeny tiny Granddaughter was born at 6 Lbs 2 Oz. While holding her in my arms for the first time with her tiny little fingers wrapped around my pinkie I realized I had a new purpose. A new reason to train and stay healthy. I need to watch my Granddaughter grow up, play with her, sit on the floor with her and be able to do all the things with her I did with my Daughter.

I don't even feel old enough to be a Grandma so to be this young and have this opportunity to watch and help this precious little girl grow is a blessing.

I had my MRI on my shoulder last night and I go see the Surgeon on September 28th to see what the future holds for me.

Until then I am going to stop feeling sorry for myself and train whatever and however I can to stay and healthy as possible. I am looking forward again to the day when I can compete because I am a very competitive person and need these kinds of goals to keep me accountable and feeling alive !

This weekend we have "Team No Limit SouljaZ" Shane Church, His lovely wife Shannon, Jack and Aneta all coming down to train at our place, they are all competing in 3 weeks except me. Instead of being a Debbie downer because poor me can't compete I'm going to embrace the company, train what I can and close my eyes and remember that baby smell, Baby Amelia, Gramma's little Angel.

I have found a new purpose this week and she came just in time, time for me to get off the Pity Train.
