I'm currently in a off season style of training, trying to bring up weak points and improve body composition for the duration of the summer. At the end of summer I will reevaluate where I stand, and decide whether I would like to compete in the late fall, or wait until the XPC Finals in March of 2016.

Sunday was my upper deload day, and just like my lower, the goal was to stay away from a bar and just get in ample work and blood flow. I used this time to mix things up and just have some fun, while getting in some moderate work. I really enjoyed using the Prowler for some rows and tricep work as I got a great pump but without the added stress of the eccentrics. My deloads have always been focused on trying to actually give my body a chance to just enjoy training. They tend to involve more athletic based movements, and I think many people should look into using that (regardless of your training background). Training like an athlete really adds a new element to things and is revitalizing (at least for me). I've always went into the final leg of the deloads ready to get under some weight and begin training within a few days.

One step backward, to get two steps forward.
