Due to me getting severely sick two weeks out from my meet I got behind on my training log entries plus many other aspects of my life. I am trying to get all of this caught up.

Here are my projected openers for my meet. First is my bench opener. I decided to swallow my pride this training cycle and meet and open lighter than I have in over 10 years. I have not opened under 700ish pounds in 10 years but I knew this needed to be done to build my confidence and get me into the meet. I know my squat is where I want it so getting my opener will help lock that in place. I decided to use my new Metal Pro - Original Material this training cycle and meet. The shirt is tight in the sleeves like I love but the chest plate is bigger than I like but by it being bigger I can touch much easier in this shirt than any shirt I have ever used. I truly feel like I could touch 600 pounds full range with no problem in this shirt. So here is my plan open 650ish, go 700, then go 715 to 730 depending on how I am feeling and what I need to solidify the total I am trying to get. First off is to get a lift in! I always take my projected opener to a 2board then to a 1board. The 1board video did not get taken but I killed it. So far so good. The pec is feeling good and the shoulder is too. Bench opener is locked in.

2nd is my deadlift opener. I have not done a full power multiply meet in 5 years so I am opening very low to lock in the total I am wanting to get. I know after doing squat and bench I will be tired so I need to assure that total then the rest is icing on the cake for me. I always pull my deadlift openers off of 2" blocks. Kinda like hitting my bench opener off a 2board and 1board. No real science for this just what I do. I am hitting 505 in this video full suit and loose straps. My projected number for this meet is 600 pounds. I don't need that number to hit the total I am wanting so like I said whatever comes after my deadlift opener is just icing on the cake. I would love to pull 600 on my third to hit a bigger total but its not needed. What is need is my squat projection and a decent bench first. My plan for the meet is open 500ish go 550 on my second then 600 on my third if I feel I have it in me.

3RD is my squat. Today is the day things started going haywire for me with my health. I started feeling bad early that day and then worse once I got to the gym. I was determined to get this squat opener in but mid way through I could tell I was not going to make it. I started having pains in my left side kidney area and got real pale white and felt like I was going to pass out. Like an idiot I decide to take one more set which was the 700 pounds in this video then shut it down. I hit the 700, shut it down then 2 hours later I was at the ER passing a kidney stone....I was very frustrated I could not take my last set and even more frustrated at how I was feeling. I never had a kidney stone ever and never want one again. The plan at the meet is to open 770ish then go for a PR 810 on my second, then 850 on my projected 3rd attempt. My squat has been solid all this training cycle and I have really gotten a better feel for my Metal Ace squat suit.

Two days after my kidney stone I got a kidney infection. They put my on antibiotics and gave me some pain medicine. 4 days after that I got flu like symptoms and went back to the hospital and got diagnosed with Bronchitis and they added some more antibiotics to my system! What a damn week! I stayed in bed for 5 straight days. I ate the best I could and tried to stay hydrated as well. I did nothing but worry about my not being able to do the meet I have been training my ass off to be ready for. Luckily next week is our deload/rest week. Time to rest and get healed up and remain positive....
