Training used to be so easy. You looked at a magazine article or what your buddies were doing and you just trained. Now, with the internet and social media you're barraged with new information daily and half of if it seems contradictory.

One day a study says we should be training to failure. Meanwhile your favorite jacked Instagram coach details how you should always keep a rep or two in reserve. Wait, is it three sets that are optimal or six and a half. It’s exhausting.

I started lifting in 1984 at the age of 15. It’s crazy when I look back, lifting hasn’t changed much over the past 40 years. It’s more about effort than anything if you aren’t training like a complete dunce.

Recently I switched back to my own version of conjugate. It’s where I made my bones. I’m really enjoying the change. And don’t you think you train harder when you enjoy what you are doing.

The moral of the story, stop chasing perfection. It’s training, not rocket science.
