The downward movement of the deadlift is something I talk a lot about. It is worth repeating. Why? It develops patience for the lifter. Through patience the lifter eliminates a hitch, keeps tension on the bar, and strengthens glutes and hamstrings. Once you combine all these different variables into one single pull, then you have a helluva stronger pull.
