SOOOOOOOO

deadlift day was upon us and this whole week my training partner and I could not stop talking trash about who is faster in the squat and deadlift. Today was the day we decided to pull out the gym aware and measure peak velocity.

On a side note, I recall a story that Dave Tate told one time at westside on speed day. They too had the ability to measure it and when it got hooked up the competition flared as everyone tried to get the faster number.

That is basically how today went down, by the third rep my form was so poor I laughed at lockout because I lost sight of the 3 reps and trying to get faster. End result? I lost, by a good amount. I think my fastest was .76 or .78 where as my teammates lowest was .84. He is a meathead though and forgot to press start on the gym aware when it was my go so I was given one more go at the weight for a single to try and redeem myself which failed. All in all it was a really fun day and I needed that, great way to end the work week.
