I had a little slip today with my diet. We had a little party at work and normally I can stay away from everything. I think it was easy for so long because I was following carb nite. I just knew almost any kind of snack food would throw me right out of ketosis and could just ruin things.

However, now that I am following a more normal eating plan, I thought I could just have a little bit. Well, a little bit turned out to be handful after handful. I mean it was nothing like the damage I could do in the past, but enough to feel guilty about.

Luckily my guilt took over. I had a bag of junk that I was going to take home and snack on all night while watching the UFC fights. I already planned on eating a pizza so why not just have a complete blowout. Why not, because it can definitely start going overboard in a hurry. I was smart enough to give it away to someone else for their kids. Yeah, I know, I'm contributing to the food delinquency of minors. Oh well, they'll get over it.

I guess, like many of you out there, I cannot just have a little. Guys like Rhodes and Wendler dropped weight just because food is not that important to them. For me, eating is like a challenge. I certainly did not get up to 329 at 5'8" by moderation. So I need parameters and will power.

It was just a minor slip, but I'm glad I caught it. It takes a long time to take the weight off, but it goes back on twice as fast.

Relapse is part of recovery.
