First part of the road trip was not bad at all. Straight shot to Columbia, SC; took about 10 hours. Settled in and then met up with Donnie Thompson and a few of his guys that travel to train there on the weekends. They waited to say hi so I thought that was super sweet of them.
Rest stop food just wasn't cuttin' it. I was getting hangry to say the least and Donnie was feeling the same way. Donnie, his wife, and daughter all invited me to dinner to a steak house that used to be an old train station. Bridget, Donnie's daughter, showed me around the restaurant trying to look for a naughty elf. Did I mention how cute she is?
Since it was late, we called it a night. Picking up Casey at the airport around 10am tomorrow. He will be driving the rest of the way up with me. Planning to spend the holidays together so I'm pretty excited about that.
Tomorrow we bench!
